What Satellite TV on PC Software Won't Do

When I first heard about this software that gives you 3000 channels of satellite TV on your PC for free, what is the first thing you think ran through my head. Wow - I want to get in on this. Of course I'm a long time techie, wanting all the latest gadgets and have a drawer full of odds and ends MP3 players, video players, wireless paraphernalia. But this seemed to good to be true, and you know what mom says about that?

Anything too good to be true, probably is. But the software, named Satellite TV for PC and other names, does allow you to view some 3000 channels of live, streaming video right on your computer (we couldn't find a Mac version) but they shouldn't call it satellite TV. It should be properly named - Internet TV - because all of the 3000 channels are available for free over the Internet. You just have to look them up. What the software does is take the work out of looking them up and puts the links all in a nifty package to can click and select your category to view. But is that legal?

Of course it is. You're buying software, actually - a sort of tuner - but it doesn't really tune anything - maybe a list and software that displays that list. But that isn't bad or illegal - there are probably thousands of programs on the Internet that do similar things and have a price tag. So you are rightfully paying for this software and the ability of it to perform a search in its database for the channel you want to watch. OK - so what won't it do?

Well, it won't hook you up to some satellite connection, in fact, there is no such satellite TV software gizmo at this time on the Internet (I would know). So you're not getting some hacked connection to HBO or a network. It doesn't down convert a satellite signal or process any video at all. That's why you are not required to add any additional hardware.

What is of benefit to you are two great things. First, these channel finders are a great time saver. I don't know how many times I've surfed for hours trying to find a working connection to soccer games in Brazil. With the satellite TV to PC software it's a snap. You keep selecting until you find a channel that works. And the second thing -

You want to make sure you purchase one of these with a risk-free money-back guarantee. There are some rip-offs out there and you need to make sure the company uses a reliable vendor that allows returns. A few do this with no questions asked.
